#90734 Posted on 2017-02-02 17:06:30 Welcome to the forum thread for February 2017. I'm the newest president, as you may have noticed. I already sent out a newsletter, but I'll reiterate anyway: I'm not promising tons of activity and amazingness to come. Clubs are just not an active, popular thing for the most part and that's okay. If I get tons of requests for contest or other group activities, we can consider something, but I find that unlikely to happen. One of the things I do want to encourage in relation to activity, is that if you're a Chincoteague breeder and are not on the list of breeders on the club page, please either PM me or post here to be added so that our list is more up-to-date. I just got done going through the list of breeders that had already been posted, and removed anyone who had left the site. I also removed a few people who seemed to have just stopped breeding Chincos. If anyone from that list starts breeding them again, feel free to ask to be added again, but I'd like to keep the list one of active breeders. We also need a new mascot, so if you'd like to suggest one of your ponies, simply post them here. I'll wait a day or two before using random.org to pick one. Last but not least for now: if we started getting more submissions for the stud book, would anyone find that useful? We've currently got zero horses listed, and that's a little sad, but I'm not going to bother trying to encourage registration if people wouldn't even look there for studs anyway. That is completely up to individual interpretation. I will never pick mascot based on what is "better," because my ideas on it might be vastly different from someone else's. Therefore, you trying to imply that Raptorfang's choice isn't as good as yours is unnecessary and rude. I'm plenty happy with our mascot. If you are not, then you can submit a horse next month to try again -- and I will be using a randomizer then as well if I am president. By "resembles the breed", I simply meant high stats, good conformation, etc. I do not know if raptor's horse is better than mine or not in those areas, but I did not mean to be at all rude to anyone.
