EV Time, NEW RC in Shows?

#85484 Posted on 2017-01-05 02:28:00

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to query if anyone else had noticed this minor annoyance that has happened a couple of times with me.

EV time is 15 hours behind my local time (currently its 2.11am 5 Jan for EV and 5.11pm 5 Jan for my local time). I try to be on EV between 3pm and midnight local time, which is midnight to 9am EV time.

Occasionally I go past my midnight time limit and am entering horses in shows/collecting fountain wishes etc at 12.30-1am. When I log into EV after 3pm that afternoon, my horses have aged a day as normal, but they don't require caring for, are still entered in shows (that have already run and I have results for), can't be put in riding schools and the Junk Yard/Fountain/Games Tent say I have already done them today.

This means that I lose a day of treating/showing/schooling/Games etc (because I have to wait until the following afternoon before I can log in again) which I'm thinking will lead to lower stats at breeding time since I keep "losing" days.

Is this a glitch with the ageing running on EV time and everything else on local time? Or do I need to make sure I have everything done by midnight on Day 1 so that Day 2 can proceed as normal.

Please be gentle - I've only just got back into this after several years off :-)

OK, that probably explains it then. I had the same thing happen again today even though I had finished well before midnight last night. Since that would have been about 2am EV time, cron wouldn't have run hence the issue.

Well, problem solved I believe. Thank you for the help, I had myself thoroughly mixed up with it.

New query though - has anyone had a Rescue Centre horse that has been entered in shows when they adopted it? I adopted two 3yo today for my riding school division, neither are boarded but both are showing up as entered in 10 shows. I can't send them to riding school because of this. Were they being shown by the previous owner before been sent to the RC, or have I got a couple of buggy horses?

I could be wrong but I always thought chron ran at 3 or 4 am game time, not midnight. I think that's where your confusion is coming from. But my local time is only an hour different from game time so I'm not completely sure.

Yeah, chron runs in the wee hours EV time, about 3am-4am (as previously said), so that's the timing you have to take into account. That will control things like show runtimes and ageing of horses. Some elements, if I'm not mistaken, will only be available after 24 hours have passed - like collecting bank money, doing games, and I believe training possibly as well. I think that is what's confusing you.

Cron runs at 4am EV time. (Cause it's 6am my time). So long as you have your horses shown/fed/treated/etc before 4am EV time each day, they should reset at 4am EV time for the next day. If you're not working on your horses around that 4am EV time each day, it may be a bug.

Most likely your adopted horse was entered into shows before being tossed into the RC; you should be able to put them into shows tomorrow.

OK, thank you everyone. Everything seems to be sorted now on those fronts; fingers crossed I don't have too many other issues :-)
