Which Program?

#85477 Posted on 2017-01-05 00:50:12

I use Pixlr for ALL of my art, and I know it's not the best program to use. However, it's free and doesn't need to be downloaded, so I access that easily. Pixlr has it's limits, for example, the blur brush does not work well, and there aren't as many brushes as other programs may have. What free programs do you use? Are there other programs that do not require download such as Pixlr? Thank you!

I don't know any that don't require a download. However, Gimp is a free download. It works pretty well and you can download extra brushes from deviant-art from it. It has never caused any problems with my computers.

Sumopaint.com ;; No download. I haven't used it in a longgggg time but as far as I remember it's pretty good. No promises though. You can upload lineart and such as well I believe.

I use a downloaded, free program for most of my work. And paint for the rest of it xD

I have used GIMP for about two years and a half. You start with a set of expansive brushes but of course you can tweak them. It's not easy to download new brushes from DA, but it can be done. I really like it as an alternative to Adobe PS, which costs money. GIMP is free, and has an easy download. I have used it on a PC, and a mac. Only one problem. It takes a while to get the hang of, but once you've got it, it's super easy to use.

I used to use Paint.net, but it's a download. I've heard good things about GIMP but I never truly used it though I have downloaded it before and just never got the hang of it. I have a download of Photoshop though, so I never truly had to learn anything else for the last seven or eight years.
