Heads up, guys...mascot voting ends at noon today, and tomorrow I will be selecting the winners of the foundie and confo contests. I will post the award amounts later on. :)

Am I missing something when training up foundies for the contests? Here's what I do:
- treat them with green apples
- give them tack (regular not upgraded)
- enter them in 10 shows as often as I can log on
- train them every time I log on at international level arenas

Is there something I'm not doing cos everyone always has their horses a million times higher in stats in than mine in the same length of time haha

Blue, I notice the shows do not award as many stats as the riding schools do...one of my suggestions would be to use the riding schools instead. :) Also, I am guessing the winners tend to log on every day, so if you need to, I would recommend keeping your foundie contest horses in their own division (or not in a division at all) and making sure you log on each day just to train, treat, and school the two. Additionally, I recommend switching back and forth between your green apples and whatever other specialty treat builds the second category your horse needs to succeed at its specialty.

I hope that helps! :)

I can't remember what treat does best, one is racing and the other is show jumping, which treats go best with those? Thank you so much for the info from now on I shall be a real contender, well I intend to be anyway haha

Hey Blue - here's the strategy i used to get the winners, hopefully it'll help :D

since we got 3 year olds with the stipulation of no specialty treats, i chose the discipline of each horse based on their base stats. Gaston's endurance stat was the highest, so i knew he needed to be in a discipline that had endurance as a stat. the others were fairly equal, so i chose racing. On the other hand, Ursula's base stats were highest in speed and agility, meaning that she'd do better at showjumping - which i then picked for her. I lucked out with "Speed" being a joint need for my two contest horses, and assigned them both carrots.

At only 100 stats, they were at all competitive in shows. Almost any horse with more than 100 stats would beat them in a show, so I entered them in riding schools until they were closer to the top of their grade level. When they had 140+ stats i entered them very carefully in shows. I chose shows that had at least 4 other entries (but preferably not more than 5-6), and that were going to end soon (to lessen the odds that a bunch of other horses would be entered in them before they ran). Once they were over 150 stats, and therefore at the bottom of their new N2 grade, i began entering them in riding schools again to boost their stats until they were competitive.

Being on every day to do this, as well as ensuring that the horses have the highest upgraded tack possible is VITAL to the strategy working successfully.
