January GV Club Contests!

#84722 Posted on 2017-01-02 04:27:26

I'm super excited to be your president for this month! I'd recommend entering as many competitions as possible, as they are all free to enter! Let's try to get everyone to enter at least one competition, as I won't run a competition if it gets less than 3 entries.

MASCOT CONTEST
Congratulations to Paige0912 (#84797) whose horse ஐ Calamity's Ember won the GV Masccot contest for January 2017! 30k will be sent to her, and her horse made mascot!

THE GREY HORSE CONTEST
Voting deadline: 28th of January

Thankyou so much to the seven people that entered the Grey Horse Contest! Just remember, even f you didn't enter you can still win money! Send me a quick PM or a comment down below on which entrant you're voting for, and you'll be in the running to win a small monetary prize! Yes, you can vote for yourself ;)

1st place prize: 20k -
Random voting prize: 7k
Random voting prize: 7k

Entries so far:
Why you should vote for Pippa!
My Pippa should win because she's a lovely snow white now and has always been a good horse for me. She's been beautiful to me at every stage of her greying.

Why you should vote for ϿϾ Jupiter!

She's just started greying out, and with the seal brown underneath, and the patterns on top she's going to be a really unusual and pretty grey at every stage of the greying.

Why you should vote for Dashire!
She is second generation for me and I am proud of her being over 1k stats with a decent conformation

Why you should vote for Cherokee!
Despite his less desirable double gray gene, I couldn't pass up on his conformation (76% average)

Why you should vote for Clara's Silver Sky!
Clara's Silver Sky is my favorite grey horse for multiple reasons. 1. She's a beautiful grey tobiano, even though that won't last long. 2. She has produced wonderful, beautiful foals. 3. Clara's Silver Sky has done very well in competitions, and she has good conformation. That's why I think she should win!

Why you should vote for Bunnie!
Bunnie is the best gray horse. As her bay coat begins to frost with gray, she only becomes better. Her silly pranks a thing of the past as she puts her mind toward her job in a way only an older dignified horse can. Bunny is a steady girl whos gray is a milestone to years spent doing what she does best, driving and frisking pockets for carrots. She also has an impressive conformation for a foundation horse.

Why you should vote for Dashire!

Dashire is incredible. She has over a thousand stats, an average conformation of 79.74, and has come first place in 294 shows, and has earned $59,570 from show earnings. Her coat is snow white, and her eyes joyful. That is why she should win!
Voters:

THE FOUNDATION CONTESTS

The following members have been sent horses:
BBRBree #107315
Chiwing #101063
Decemure #86333
Gypsy Vanners - J #86471
SunRae #107388
Valzed #87263

If I missed you, got your ID number wrong, or you have any questions, please PM me!

Most Stats Earned Contest

Most stats overall, not specific to discipline stats.

Prize:
1st - $20k
2nd - $5k

Most Points Earned Contest
Please don't tell me anyone needs further explanation :D
1st - $20k
2nd - $5k

Most Money Earned Contest

Name kinda says it all, right? To clarify, most money earned by the horse in shows and/or riding school. Feel free to donate the money you earn to the GV club ;)

Prize:
1st - $20k
2nd- $5k

I also want to announce that I'll be making a change to the requirements to join the GV club. This will not make it trickier to get horses into the GV club for those that breed only for stats. It gives confo and colour breeders that aren't as interested in stats a chance. Don't panic. This change just gives colour and confo breeders a better chance. You only need to fit ONE of the three requirements (original stats requirement OR colour requirement OR conformation requirement)

From now on, I will accept horses that have an average conformation of more than 65.

I will also be accepting horses that have rare colours/markings. This includes:
Ata, AtAt, Crcr, CrCr, Dd, DD, Ff, ff, Pp, PP, Rbrb, RbRb, W+, RnRn, Oo, Spsp, and SpSp. If the horse has at least 3 of the above genetics then it will be accepted to the GV club. A solid horse (i.e no markings) will be counted towards your target goal of 3. A solid horse that has no markings in the picture whatsoever will be accepted automatically. If there's a rare genetic that you feel I've missed, feel free to contact me about it!

MASCOT CONTEST:
ஐ Calamity's Ember
This girl is one of my favourite Gypsies mainly because of her colour and leg markings, but also because of her stats :D

Yay contests!

Mascot Contest Entry: Candy (#528763)
Candy is my favorite because I love the combination of her red dun coloring & her splash sabino marking. I've never had a splash sabino GV before so I fell in love the second I saw her!

Grey Contest Entry: Pippa (#496540)
My Pippa should win because she's a lovely snow white now and has always been a good horse for me. She's been beautiful to me at every stage of her greying.

I'd like to enter the Most Stats Earned Foundation Contest. May I have a stallion, please? (I bought a mare for last month's RAF contest but I was the only entrant so it was cancelled. I'd like to pair them up afterwards.) Thank you!

I'd also like to thank you for explaining the new requirement rules. I think it's great that our GVs have more options to be registered under. I also appreciate that they only have to meet one of the 3 options. Many clubs require horses to meet 2 options and that can be hard to do sometimes. The new system you've implemented really makes our club open to all types of breeders. Thank you!

Mascot Contest Entry:
Lace's Perfection

Why do I love this horse so much?
"Because Lace's Perfection is out of my favorite mare of all time; Lace. She's been my pride and joy for the past 7 months, as she's been locked several times. ♥ High stats, wonderful color, and awesome conformation. I have high hopes for this little guy and will only be auctioning off 1 public breeding for him in about 18 weeks. So stay alert people!" ;)

Mascot entry: ϿϾ Hickory (#469732)
He's a favourite of mine because he's a home bred with extremely rare genes, and I was so overjoyed when I fluked that breeding. When he was born he was the only gypsy with AtAt genes.

Grey horse entry: ϿϾ Jupiter (#429803)
She's just started greying out, and with the seal brown underneath, and the patterns on top she's going to be a really unusual and pretty grey at every stage of the greying.

Mascot:
Réiltín
[url*=http://equiverse.com/horse.php?id=530877]Réiltín[*/url]
I'm very proud of this guy's striking colors and blue eye, plus his double dun gene makes him pretty valuable (to me)!

Gray horse:
Cherokee
[url*=http://equiverse.com/horse.php?id=466927]Cherokee[/*url]
Despite his less desirable double gray gene, I couldn't pass up on his conformation (76% average).

So for the foundation contests, can you enter one horse in all three contests? Why not just have one big pool and give prizes out to each category so that you don't have to keep track? Just a thought. If that is the case, I would like to enter all three with a mare, please :D

MASCOT CONTEST
Devine Incantation is my favorite horse (http://www.equiverse.com/horse.php?id=498744). I do like her stats and her conformation is well balanced, but what I really like about her is her genes. Some horses you can know what kind of foal she will throw with just a quick look, but with her being heterozygous in in her black, cream, flaxen and Rabicano, it will be like Christmas when she has a foal. I will have no idea what she will throw until it is laying wet and wrinkly in her stall. She is homozygous for the dun, so we do know her future foals will carry the marks of her prehistoric ancestors from her dorsal strike to her leg bars.

Grey Contest Entry: Bunnie
http://www.equiverse.com/horse.php?id=545519 is the best gray horse.

Mascot:
ag.fb. borden's axeidental end (#551044)
This is my favorite new foal because it has great stats and is my first foal to be pangare. This foal will be a great start to my new GV line and I think she is just absorbable, plus you gotta love her name ;)
