[pistol] Can I just...?! [finding horses]

@Leah: Those prices are insane to me! You can find eventers up here for around 5-8k, and greener ones for maybe 3k. In fact I just saw a GORGEOUS dressage/eventer who is 17hh for $2,500. Honestly, 17hh horses that aren't drafts are definitely not seen much around here.

And trust me, I don't know much about my discipline either lol besides what I look for in a horse. I'm going to attempt starting english, as I just bought a saddle for fun! Hopefully it's an okay saddle, I haven't got the chance to use it yet but it seems okay. I won't be doing anything fancy with it other than trail riding. I only need a pad now :p

@vos: Weird! I didn't know that. I've always seen Seal Bay as just a variation of bay so that's good? Lol. Markings hide easily so it's hard to tell what he is. Thanks!

@Sherwood: Oh yeah! It's just not seen as much, at least around me. I'd love to get him tested, but I think the accurate ones are really pricey though I haven't looked into it :p

@Sherwood
Feel free to PM me about it to keep this thread from becoming a cluster.

@Pistol
UC Davis offers individual tests for $25 or the full white pattern panel (tobiano, LWO, sabino, splash, and white spotting/dominant white) for $60. So they're not too horrible on price. Just for reference :)

Lol no way. I don't have the skill to break one, nor the money to send it to a professional xD

My goal is to do all the ground work and pre-riding stuff and then send off for 90 days. Planning to break them out as a 3 year old so gives me about 3 years to save. And depending on the horse and their attitude, may look at putting on the first few rides if my friend is brave enough to jump on lol
