To start off, everyday people usually go to the fountain, and some wish for money. You can get anywhere between 0-25,000 EVD from the foundation a day (though the 25k is the jackpot and isn't usually common for people to win). A lot of people also use the games tent. I usually rake in anywhere between 5-15k everyday just playing Higher or Lower and the coin toss.

Riding schools are also other ways to bring in money fast. I've decided to stop showing entirely until my horses are on the higher end of stats for their current grade level, and use riding schools until then. Today, I should bring in around 28,000 EVD from putting my horses in 10 hours worth of riding school time.

Lot's of people who are dedicated breeders and have been working on their lines for a longer amount of time also will bring in a lot of money showing their horses (I know someone who mentioned bringing in around 10k / day showing), studdding their horses out, and even just selling them because they're such nice horses.

People who have been here on Equiverse for a much longer period of time tend to have the most money (aside from people who sell art), because they've been at it with their lines of horses for the longest time.

Aside from all of this, as you mentioned, art is another HUGE way of bringing in money.

Wey gave great info, the only thing I have to add is put all your money in your bank account and gather the interest daily. Remember only what's in the account gets counted towards interest, anything on hand doesn't :)

Another tiny form of income.. stop by the junkyard and pick up a random item. You can always sell something on the item market to other members :3

And just remember! It won't happen over-night becoming more financially secure on the game. Train up a good solid line of horses that are in demand, and do the basic things as listed above and you'll be fine.

If I'm being honest,I sold about 10 credits so I could upgrade my tack and my horses would show better (I make 20-45k of profit per day in shows)./:( But after I did that and riding schools were introduced...

You know all those horses you may end up buying from the EC but you may put in the RC because they're not precisely what you wanted in stats/confo/color? Instead of doing that (which loses me money) I transfered those "unwanted" horses I bought for 2,000 a piece (because I buy foals) to my second "basic" account. All horses on that account are either the unwanted stores I bought, low-confo 3yo and/or geldings from the rescue center. I enter them all in 10 "private" riding school hours for the maximum payout. With 25 horses I averaged 10k a day profit, although I'm currently at 50horses averaging 20k a day profit. Since this happens on my 2nd basic account and these are horses I don't plan on breeding, I only really "take care" of them by feeding them every 3 days or so, and treating them sugar cubes I get from the Riding School. I don't bother with vet or farrier with those horses specifically. This keeps costs on this account low. I transfer whatever I make between the riding school, wishing for money, and the games tent to my main account. Between everything I'm currently sending 25-35k a day from my second account to my main account.

I love ducky's idea!

personally, I make my money in selling foals, offering studs, and in show earnings.
I sold one piece of art, once, for 50k. the rest of my money was earned solely through playing the game. I can't stress enough the importance of putting all your in-hand money in the bank at night to earn max interest. Another thing - if you know your horses are at the bottom of their grade's stat range, don't waste money on putting them in shows; use them in the riding school where they can earn you guaranteed money as well as build up stats until they'll do well in shows.

I also put the horses on my basic account in my deluxe account's riding school so my main account gets the riding school fee.:)
