Hey Guys (Jan 3rd update)
Edits to main post will be in gray

Welcome to JANUARY!!!

Here's whats on our agenda, and the things I want to hear about from you!!...

...first I hope you all had a lovely holiday and new year.

Sadly this club is not very active... sadly clubs overall are not very active. It's just how it goes.

Luckily I alone can provide art for the club without using funds, but I can't do a shiny new monthly layout or club card. That takes up a lot of my time, but I will try my best to keep it pretty :D

ON THAT NOTE
.. I'm trying to be an active president, and will happily host contest here, and there, but they will not happen every month. Maybe every other month or less. It depends on entry numbers, and how the clubs bank account holds up

I still check the club page all the time to accept horses into the stud book, registry, update info, check if someone's posted anything, and ask for/ update mascots.

CLUB MASCOT!!
This months mascot is χ White Lily(421155) owned by Xylia (#78562)

I had stopped doing the mascot/ image thing because no one would ever enter, but you guys have asked for it back, so its back!! Yay!! I'm making a new image, and hope to have it done soon :D

HOW THE MASCOT IS GOING TO GET PICKED
Well it was going to be 100% random now. I have 6 pages of registered horses and 50 horses on a page. I use random.org to pick a page number and also to pick a horse number. That's how we are getting our mascot!

***The horse has to be unlocked to be a mascot.

CONTEST!!
Next month I shall hold a contest. Not sure what yet, so why don't you help and tell me in the comments if you like an idea, or if you have one! :D

Idea 1. Art contest- Draw a Lipizzan, no background needed!! The winner's picture will become the new Lipizzaner clubs layout for next month(March)!! plus the winner will get a cash prize!!

Idea 2. Improve the breed- I'll send out a store bought lippy to everyone entered, and you will have until the end of the month to get that horse's stats as high as you can! Winer gets a cash prize!!

DONATIONS!!
The Lipizzaner club's bank account is doing just fine at the moment, but if we start doing contest on a regular base then we all need to chip in. The bank account does not get a monthly stipend that I know of, so income is solely from club shows, and registration fees.

If it gets too low I can always hold a design sale where the profits go right to the club, but that's taking up my time to make design and so on. Really not interested in doing this, but I will to keep our bank looking lush!

The bank account does not get a monthly stipend that I know of.

I have some ideas :3

Layout:
Definitely have registration and stud info. Having a list of breeders would also be neat.

Registration:

0-5 year olds: 150 stats min
6-11 year olds: 250 stats min
12-17 year olds: 350 stats min
18+ year olds: 450 stats min

Studs:
15 year min with at least 400 stats.

As for top stallions and mares, maybe you can use the main horse search feature? Make sure locked horses aren't included then check the horses page to see if they are registered.

I did a little test with the main horse search feature. It's going to be a time consuming pain to go down the list, but it really is the only way. I would like to do it, but it's mostly based on how much time I have.

I like your stat minimums it's right about where I was feeling it should be for foundation horses. I'll just go with that for now.

Studs are going to have an age limit of 15, and I'm happy with the idea a 400stat min. In my view one of the most important things that needs to be managed(not like I actually have control XD) is responsible breeding. The super pretty breed art draws in a lot of people and sadly not all are going to be as committed to breeding the best horses they can.

I totally agree about the responsible breeding thing! More variety in lines is a great thing to have but it's hard to achieve with such few dedicated breeders.

I noticed a real lack in the number of lippy breeders. So Ive just started a line of my own..plan to add more foundies as I go...Locked other more popular breeds so I can focus on bringing up my foundie lippys.. Always looking for bald faced lippies...If anyone has any or comes across any they dont want...holla!

Woo hoo, more people!

I have such a large amount of pixel ponies due to the lack of breeders. Gotta keep variety in lines alive.

The new layout and club card are now up!!

I'm using an old tag for the mascot image for now, but I still plan on making something new :D

I hope it becomes active. What it always turns into is a place for me to keep updated, and that's pretty much it :/

So if it seems lackluster at times it's because I can't seem to get anyone to participate. Big money prizes and even custom art prizes are not getting people to be active with the club.

I'm always open to ideas!!! You can PM me or comment them here, or on the Lippy club's page!

We might need to do a bit of breed promotion...maybe sponsoring a new breeder might not hurt...? :)

That would be interesting to do. Or some new breeder incentives or something.

Ok! I'm game, but let's now figure out how to get this done!

Breed promotion
Well honestly I have no clue what can be done here. This is an epic breed, but the facts are people don't find them interesting as a breeding project. I think we can all agree it has to do with color :/ that being said maybe people would be interested in breeding Lipizzans if they were able to get their hands on breeding pairs, or even a little herd?

I'm thinking Of buying some store horses and training them till 6 or 10 and then offering them as pairs/ groups at base price.
That may help get a few people into them!

Making them stick to it... well I'm truly stumped. To me, this is the best breed! I've been trying to buy a Lipizzaner in RL for years, and even I want out half the time due to lack of good blood lines, and the overall lack of activity within the breed.

Sponsoring a new breeder
Again, not sure how to tackle this. I don't really get the idea of sponsoring someone or understand how it's done/ what should happen.
Would like to hear more on this.
