Mare breeding?

#2941 Posted on 2016-02-15 20:26:06

Okay, so now it's 5 days before a mare gives birth? Before we could breed the mare again after 3 days? So now what is it? Can they be rebred after so many days after breeding or so many days after giving birth?

If I want to breed each mare one time for myself bred on the day before they turn 21 and one time before that breeding to sell. When do I have to do the first breeding so that I can still breed my mare on the last day before 21?

I believe you must breed her the day before she turns 20. Let me double check though

But what I'm wanting to know is, since they are pregnant for 5 days. How does that work? Can they be rebred immediately after giving birth or do you have to wait a certain number of days?

Pretty sure you have to wait, though it was the same way on old ev

Aglet; couldn't remember myself about that. I thought it was they day before they turn 21 so I just bred one of my mares that's 20 and YEP she was breedable.

Now, still need to know how long after they give birth can they be rebred...

Zest,

How many days? And, is it from the day they are bred or the day they give birth?

In this post that I read http://www.equiverse.com/topic.php?id=753, Abbie stated that horses now won't die until 22+ years, so breeding them just before they turn 21 won't matter :)

As the recode is brand new, I think only Abbie could tell you how many days after birth a mare could become pregnant again :) (I may be wrong though, someone might know the answer) :D

All new territory! Guess we'll just have to relearn bunches of stuff.

Thank you!

Yep, haha, it's pretty much all trial and error to get your answers and see what works! :D and no problem :)

On old EV mares could be bred once every seven days. (Stallions were every three.)

I believe the times are the same for the mares; a five day gestation before you get the foal, and then a two-day "cool down" before the mare can be rebred, but I'm not 100% sure!

Stallions I believe can now be rebred immediately? Or the next day, at least. It appears I could breed a horse to my stud that was bred to yesterday, but I don't want to do so, so I didn't actually try. :P

I think the time you have to wait is 7 days, just like old EV (sorry I wan't very clear).
So 5 days = pregnant, and 2 days rest before being able to rebreed.

LOL...I went ahead speeded her up, to see.

Now I have another wonder....

What is the color "Moreno"? I changed her color to that, has the coloring of a double cream....but her foal didn't get a color gene at all from her.

Yeah I saw that....it's odd. Perhaps because it has 1 black gene and 1 red gene and only 1 brown gene? But, why the blue eyes like a double cream?
