What's your smallest Grade horse (pony)

#269672 Posted on 2023-06-22 05:03:42

Okay, as I desperately try to cut down numbers, I decided I could start a new project/line... xD
So many colors I've never got to breed as a Welsh pony breeder, which made me decide to start some crossing with other breeds, call it a true sports pony now focussing on low nss show jumpers, but might throw in a dressage line at some point too.

But I'm just wondering what the really small Grade horses (ponies) look like. I've seen some that were a little smaller, and truly adorable! Most of my projects are now 12hh - 14hh foals, but say you'd cross a Miniature with a Shetland pony, what would happen?
And most likely, someone has already tried! So please show me your smaller/smallest Grades! ^_^

- Oh, and if anyone is interested in joining my little breeding project, feel free to hit me a dm or find me on the Discord channel. It will be fun!

That sounds like a fun breeding project!

I was also curious about what the smallest grade horses look like, so I used the "Horse Search" function to find them. These two are the smallest grade horses currently alive at 7.1hh: one and two. They are tiny and quite adorable!

Oh gosh, how did I not know about the height option in horse search whahaha. But yes wow, they're really cute! Though in the art they do seem a lot bigger than the Shetties and Mini's. Just like a 13.2hh Grade seems much bigger than the Welshies. I wonder if that's ever going to get fixed (or that all horses get sized at some point hihi)

Snatched myself a champagne Miniature to cross with my Welshies and got a couple foals that'll be 8/9hh now! Can't wait for them to mature!
