Yes! I'm breeding Anglo-Arabians & Drum Horses. ♥ Love those two breeds in real life. :)

I will never cross breed because of the generic "Grade" name & I don't like the picture of the horse.
If I wanted to breed an Arabian with a Quarter Horse, it is really a Quarab not a Grade.

Grade horses are just the start of a project to allow players to crossbreed without restriction! Weights are next on the list for Grades when an update is possible.Β

I would love for actual crossbreed names to be added, but I wouldn't want them to be automatically assigned to horses. I would have it as an extra check for horses, like a registration of sorts. EV horses already come matching the breed standard where possible from the EC so it makes sense to me that if you want your crossbreed to match a RL crossbred that it should also match their standard. Plus some players have made up breeds or their own names, not having it be automatic would allow for that to continue and make everyone happy imo.Β

In short, support, just not automatic assigning.Β

I agree with maple. I have my own Grade horse project with Clydes and Mustangs called Busch Ponies, I wouldn't want them to be auto assigned to a different name.Β

@ Deer Creek, there's no recognized crossbreed name for Clydes X Mustangs. Any Clydes X Mustangs will remain as Grade Horse as there's no official name for that cross.

This suggestion is only for recognized crossbreeds listed in Ulysses's thread. Any unrecognized crossbreeds will remain as Grade Horse for now. Anyone is welcome to make any new suggestions for unrecognized crossbreeds but this post is not for them.

Yes, this would be very helpful, as I just started a Warlander project! I would honestly be satisfied if the breed would appear as any of the 3 examples you gave. I've only just started, but I've already been a bit concerned about when I need to add purchased horses to my lines down the road. It's going to be very painstaking to find Grade horses with the right breeds in their pedigree what with all crossbreeds in the game being grouped together. Being able to search for them by their recognized crossbreed name would be a major time-saver.

While on one hand I do support the suggestion, as it would be good for my Warlanders, and Australian Ponies, on the other hand one of my breeds would be excluded as it is made up. However that is more due to the breed name not being given an official name despite people actually breeding them irl. The appaloosa x clydesdale.Β

I also very much agree with what maple said.

i'd say as long as it's something to opt-in/opt-out of rather than being automatic, some players probably wouldn't want their grades listed as a particular breed for their own reasons even if they're breeding a recognized cross.

could also have an "automatically label recognized crossbreeds" toggle if you don't want to manually register every time and don't mind the game assigning breed names for you.

I like that idea Forgottenland :D I don't do crossbreeding yet, but I'm thinking of doing a POA project(eventually) and I may not want some of them registered as POAs if they don't have any lp/patn genes :3

Support.Β

I won't breed grade horses because there is no point(in my mind) to have a drum horse that is not called a drum horse and does not look like a drum horse. Same as with any other recognized cross.Β

Amen to that.Β
I have a herd of Clydesdales and Gypsies. I am hoping to cross them and create my own line of drum horses but I am not going to do it until they are labeled as drum horses AND look like drum horses.

@ Hermes Studs
They are typically called Sugarbush Draft or American Sugarbush Harlequin Draft, correct?Β

Personally, I would love to have all "non-official" but common crossbreeds like Sugarbush be recognized in the game as well. I mean, there's an RL association for that breed with the breed standard. The reason why I didn't include them in this suggestion is that my original suggestion thread was downvoted and failed to get decent support. In my original suggestion, it included all unofficial crossbreeds so I decided to delete that suggestion and developed a new suggestion thread for official crossbreeds only.

As I said, anyone is welcome to create a separate thread for unofficial breeds. Whoever does that will have my support as I originally wanted to breed for Sugarbush but decided against it due to it not being recognized in the game (based on Ulysses's thread).
