If I don't get a art tablet for Christmas, I was planning on buying one with my christmas money. Anybody know some good inexpensive art tablets?

Actually I was waiting on one for Christmas as well!

I wanted an animation desk but an art tablet was good enough!

Though I don't know any really good ones, maybe looking it up somewhere?

Princes unfortunately tend to differ a lot depending on location, so I can't really say anything about it, you need to check it yourself.

Older graphic tablets from Wacom (currently unavailable Bamboo line, first Intuoses to replace Bamboos) were very durable and good for start considering their low price (compared with tablets for professionals). Nibs were efficient, you didn't need to change them too often. Unfortunately their drivers are as bad as the legends say and I've heard it hasn't changed with newer graphic tablets from this brand. You need to learn how to deal with it. Nothing too problematic, but it can be irritating that you need to restart a device because pressure is not working or need reinstall the driver, again.
I don't have any first hand experience though with the new wacom tablets. I've heard their surface is more rough, which means first nibs will die faster than they used to, so if you decide for this brand check how much they cost because if you draw a lot you will need to buy some at some point.

An artist I know uses a Huion tablet and is satisfied with it, charging the pen is not problematic and it's not too heavy. I know nothing else about this brand, only that they're okay.

I think Bamboo is probably the best brand imo. I did also have the old school wacom one years ago(I actually still have it lol but I upgraded to a bigger tablet awhile back). This is the one I have. Not sure if stores even sell that model anymore. I've never had any issues with the drivers on this one. I've only had to install them once when I first got it and it's been fine. As for the nibs, mine came with a pack of like, 5 nibs and I've only ever changed it out once (The nibs don't look very expensive on amazon anyway.. It's the pens that cost a lot, so don't lose it! lol) You also don't need to charge the pen. I didn't know on some brands they come with battery operated pens/re-chargeable pens. I've literally never charged my pen and I've had this thing almost 10 years probably.
Good luck in your search! c:

I've had a wacom tablet, i loved it but i found it difficult to find replacement pens and wires where i lived, i now have a huion h610 pro and have been using it for multiple years and i'm extremely happy with it! personally i find huion easier to use and slightly more affordable and thats what i would recommend to first time users ♥
