Rant over my stupidity

What the title says.

I've just discovered about 30 minutes ago that I used to overlook about 10-40 shows PER discipline and level for maybe.... months. (I strongly hope it's just months and not for years...) ;_____;

And how I have done it, you may ask.

Well, I use the simple manual showing feature since I want to ensure that only 3-4 horses of mine are registered in each shows and the max fee was set for 50$ (for finding shows by specialty as well - honestly, I can't remember if it's automatic or I had set it for that amount somewhere in the far past). I honestly thought it was the max fee for shows.

Now, the fountain was generous enough to gift me a 3-day auto-showing, and I was like "yeah, why not". So I started auto-showing my horses to the shows with highest entries (I checked in manual showing how many of my horses compete against each other beforehand, so I could choose priority). After registering, I wanted to re-check if I had choosed priorities well, and... I didn't find the shows I've just registered into. After 10 minutes of agonized back and forth searching from the horses' active shows to the showing page different tabs, and strongly lamenting on creating a topic in the 'Help me' section as a possible bug, ENLIGHTMENT STRUCK ME and realization hit my tiny brain. 

The max fee was too low, therefore manual showing didn't show me the shows with higher entry fees.

And I found literally A DOZENS OF SHOWS (if it's not hundreds but I may exaggarate since I'm just jumping for joy like a crazy guine pig, lol) to register into (I'm almost always looking for shows because there're not enough for my thousands of horses ). So now I set the max fee to like a million XD and hope not to make this mistake in the future. But still - it's like the strongest facepalm you can imagine. And I may be grateful for the fountain - if it hadn't gifted me auto-showing, I would still live in blissful ignorance. 

Please, tell me I'm not the only one who happens to overlook the most simplest things and then happy to find the philoshoper's stone. :'D

A similar thing happened to me! I did not realize that there are shows with higher fees until someone mentioned it. I think the automatic max fee should be $100!

I always wanted the max fee to show 100, not 50 as it is. I might have even created suggestion about it in the past or have voted for somebody else's suggestion on that matter. Unfortunately, there was a poll created at some point and half of voters wanted to leave 50 while other half wanted 100. In the end it was left, to my disappointment, as it is (at 50). I also, in the past, for a very long time didn't realise that it was possible to find shows more expensive than 50

ooo i don't remember the poll but i do remember the discussion about letting the fee you type in "stick" (before it would reset to $50 every time), i was hoping the default would be changed too lol. it's just a minor thing i have to do before starting a day of showing though.

You're not alone! There's so many cool things you never know about until suddenly someone says them. It took me almost two years on this revamp to learn I could message someone directly from the forum page! (under the member information on the right there's a direct link!) And embarrassingly enough I'm a moderator, so often have to message people about forums xD I spent years going to people's profiles to message them!

The 50$ things gets me sometimes even though I know about it. So glad it's sticky now, when I'm being cheap and only want $20 novice shows for the random rescues or want to see everything for highest entries. I was on the $100 base side of the poll, but there was a big contention that wanted it kept at $50. Glad that was something polled in the end though, I love getting to see the diversity in members compared to the vocal majority and my personal opinions.

Why can't we set player settings where we can decide the default fee for ourselves? For me, my "sticky" doesn't always stick and would revert to $50 at random times. Because of that, I often missed several shows as well. It was $100 for horses #1 and #2, then it suddenly revert to $50 for horse #3 and I didn't notice it.

^ i've noticed the "refresh" as well, i'm not sure but i feel like it might be after you've been idle for 15 minutes because that's when you also get marked as offline right? so if i've been away from my laptop long enough i usually remember to type the fee back in though sometimes i forget and get confused lol.
