New added Horse breeds?

#256520 Posted on 2022-04-14 11:53:51

I know we have the crossbreeding added now but OMG guys! There's never enough horses! :D
Admin, we do LOVE all the work you've put into this site though and we are grateful but GAAAAAAH more horse breeds? HECK YEAH!

Here's some breeds I would like to see:
- Kathiawari/Marwari (I LOVE their pointed ears and they have special jeweled Accessories too))
- Fjord horse
- Donkey/Mules (they aren't horses but.... they are equine))
- Irish Cob
- Falabella
- Fox Trotter

Again, Admin, I'm not trying to be rude. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SITE and I appreciate every horse breed on here and all the stuff ya'll have done to upgrade and improve Equiverse. These are just some more breed ideas.
Thanks for everything,
                               Roo_AnimeFanGirl ♥

We already have Irish Cob :) we just called them Gypsy Vanners in this game but they are actually the same breed as Irish Cob.

I would love to have more breeds too! However, I want to focus on approved crossbreeds such as Drum Horse and Warlanders before adding any new breeds.

The old EV did have several more breeds than what EV has today. This has been mentioned I don't even know how many times yet, but new breeds are not going to be added into the distant future. Not only that, but with the new grade horses being added in, added several new breeds, but those would be crossbreeds. Though they are still horse breeds. There are several more reasons on why EV will not be adding in new horse breeds.

1 - The old EV did have several more breeds. When the new EV (this version) was being made, they removed the breeds that weren't used much. As I do not know what breeds were removed, I do know this from being on EV for a couple years now.

2 - Adding in new breeds would create a LOT of work for EV to add them in the game. This means making new art and perhaps foal art. This also means EV would have to fit the tack, blankets, halters, and everything else that you can add to your horses.

3 - As mentioned before, the new Grade horses allow a lot more breeds into the game. Though they are all grade horses, they are all crossbreeds. They may not be purebred, but it allows a lot of crossbreeds to be added into the game without really adding them if you know what I mean. Also, the grade horse can be different sizes which makes it seem like one grade horse is different than the other besides their coat color or pattern.

Again, this has been mentioned 100s of times throughout the years, and nothing about a new breed has been said. I think it would be nice to have a new breed added, but remember that they removed half or more of what used to be on EV.  It would probably be a couple years until the thought of a new breed would be added, but highly unlikely.

It would be fun, sure, but this has been brought up in the past and shot down.

I didn't know about this. However, things have changed over time. Because they were removed in the past doesn't mean it's impossible for us to introduce a new breed. If it is a true concern, the admins would never introduce grade horses to the game which basically introduced tons of new breeds to the game.

2 - Adding in new breeds would create a LOT of work for EV to add them in the game. This means making new art and perhaps foal art. This also means EV would have to fit the tack, blankets, halters, and everything else that you can add to your horses.
We shouldn't automatically vote no because of this reason. The admins had stated multiple times that it's not an issue for them. They also proved that it's still not an issue when they introduced grade horses to the game.

3 - As mentioned before, the new Grade horses allow a lot more breeds into the game. Though they are all grade horses, they are all crossbreeds. They may not be purebred, but it allows a lot of crossbreeds to be added into the game without really adding them if you know what I mean. That's true. However, it doesn't match every crossbreed's body proportion. I am hoping to breed for drum horse someday and Grade Horse doesn't look like a draft horse and it doesn't have feathered legs.

It would probably be a couple years until the thought of a new breed would be added, but highly unlikely.
People said that for years and, yet, we got Grade Horse now. Nobody mentioned that this suggestion has to be done within a year. There's no timeline in this suggestion. People shouldn't assume what admins are planning. Stating that it's highly unlikely is a false narration and gave players a wrong impression. People, including mods, legit told me that it's not happening a few DAYS before the grade horse release. It's very clear that the admins are open to the idea since they just added grade horse. They even made a post on recognized crossbreed a while ago. It's clear that they are planning on improving crossbreeds over time, not immediately. It is also clear that the players, including the mods, do not know everything about what the admins are planning. We shouldn't make assumptions about what the admins want.

Also, if the admins truly don't want more breeds, they can simply create a post stating that and ban new breed-related posts. The players need to stop gatekeeping breed-related posts when admins are open to it.

Just want to point out, mods were aware of the Grade Horse (we were involved in the testing of it) but wanted to keep it a surprise! Please don't assume we don't know things. c:

I would love curly eared horses personally♥

It is very time consuming for everyone involved for new breeds, the grade horse seemed a sensible step forward when it would be impossible to choose a new breed on it's own. No matter what might get added, there'll always be someone that's not happy with the update or what was chosen. Hence the most diverse option (and most average horse build as multiple 'weights' were not possible at the point of introduction) was added to bring some variety to the game, as well as a new mechanic of height scaling, and enable player creativity for their own breeds!
