Art questions ?

#252434 Posted on 2022-02-09 11:27:19

I don't know if it's alright to ask questions about art on this board, but here goes!

I used to use an art tablet, but since my laptop broke I've only had my Chromebook (so can't download the tablet or programs ). Does anyone have recommendations of good online art programs that work good with a mouse? Good sources for lineart maybe, so I can get started that way?

Thanks for all suggestions!

DA has a lot of great bases and linearts to use! I do art on my chromebook, but you can download programs onto a chromebook I think. I use pixlr a simple photo editing site because it's the only thing I have to use.

I'm not sure if it works with a chromebook as I use a mac desktop, but I use GIMP. However I don't think chromebooks have the ability to download programs. I do all my art with a mouse and have been using GIMP for as long as I've been making art.

@ɦօʀֆɛɢɨʀʟ - Thank you! I'll take a look at Pixlr and see how I do with it. Maybe some lineart on DA can get me started!

@wey - I'll see if I can use GIMP! Would be great to have a program that works nicely with a mouse c:

It's not the best, but it's only pixels, and there isn't much of any brushes

I don't know if its still any good, but I used to use Sumopaint on my school Chromebook all the time before I got Paint Tool SAI. Simple program, you just use it in your browser. You can save your project as a png, jpeg, gif, or .sumo file so you can come back and work on it again too!

@Rubz - I used Sumo too until they made it pay to use. I still do art on my school chromebook which is the only thing I can use to do art.

@Rubz is probably use it if it was for free! I love programs where you can come back to it

@ɦօʀֆɛɢɨʀʟ Pixlr is perfect! I've been practicing with for a bit now, and will probably start digital art for real soon again c:

I'm glad you like it! I use both versions, but I'm trying to find a different program.
