Sooty Charries

#244330 Posted on 2021-07-28 21:30:12

So I've recently started to mess around with sooty characters, and would like y'alls opinion on them, and what I can/should do different. So far I've only done sooty bay's, but yah, here they are:

This is the first I did, and it's for Nirvanic's charrie contest. (This one also has tobiano thrown into the mix).

This one is the second sooty I've done, and is a bab i did for myself.

Any thoughts/criticism is welcomed, I'm really looking to improve my designs/charries!

They aren't bad for first times. With some practice you'll get better. Maybe you could also try doing sooty on some other coat colors.

Very cute! I do suggest however, blending out the sooty a bit. It might look a bit more natural if it was blended. Also, friendly tip! I suggest not using stark white on markings. Usually it’s best to go just below white I find.(if that makes sense) I hope this helps. You’re definitely going the right direction though! Keep up the good work! :)

@horsegirl thank you, I’m planning to try some other colours soon!

@Siren thank you, I’ll try blending it more next time! I’ll also try using not stark white next time, thank you for that tip as well! ♥
