What is the point of gelding other then not being able to breed?

I guess all the points of gelding boil down to "not being able to breed":
not breeding a certain horse by accident, reducing overbreeding, blocking the line, selling the horse without the risk the buyer would spoil our work by mating him with wrong mare, selling nice showing stock without giving the others genes/stats/confo cheap...
