confused paint discipline

I have just bought a beautiful foal but am unsure what discipline to put him in.  I did not breed him - mom a racer, dad a western.  Currently under a year old. Was wondering whether to put him to racing or endurance then change to western, or, keep him western & hope to reduce the endurance stats at breeding? 

Eventually I want him to join my western herd for breeding but would like your opinions on what he should do.

I would train him in a racing/endurance and convert to western. He has quite many non-basic stats in endurance and strenght, it would be less to breed down later. :C
