What good does it do to research the geno types? and what do they mean

genotypes are useful when it comes to breeding.

for example, by seeing the genotype of your horse above, i can tell you that it won't ever have any chestnut foals (and therefore anything with a chestnut base like palomino, dunalino, etc), that it won't ever have flaxen foals, and that all its foals will have some sort of appaloosa pattern.
