Eurovision Parties - Anyone have them/going to one

Well its that time of year when Im situated in the UK whereby Europe has this wonderful/awful (depending on your view point!) little contest known as the Eurovision Song Contest. If you dont know what it is long story short 26 European countries battle it out against each other via the medium of song. Although Australia has been included for the past few years so I dunno what the deal with that is!

Anyhoo up & down the country & indeed across Europe people host Eurovision parties. This year its my turn out of the group of people I hang out with. We all bring a dish related to a country that is performing that we have chosen to support & have a big buffet. Also we have lot of alcohol (not necessarily Eurovision related!)

We also in theory drink depending are supposed to fill in a score card giving marks out of 10 across 5 categories (Song/Performace and or vocals/Costume/Stageshow ie pyros or lighting etc/Eurovisioness ie a WTF moment) for a total of 50 marks for each song. This usually works til song 12 when we get too drunk & forget!

Then prior to the scoring round a country is chosen to be the 12pt Shot Challenge country. Each time this country gets 12pts those partaking in the challenge has to drink a shot (the alcohol chosen by a particularily evil individual is usually awful. Last year it was some sort of Indian version of Absinthe!) 2017 (sweden) was dire & only 2 shots were won 2016 (i forget the country) was insane & 23 were won.

The winner (last one standing) gets a selection box of spirits that has been donated kindly by everyone.... Basically unwanted xmas gifts.

The person that gave the winning song the most points on their scorecard also gets a prize. A much more civilised bottle of Moet champagne.

So is anyone else doing anything?!
