Spiders!

#168229 Posted on 2018-04-23 16:20:07

I'm just curious, does anyone else like spiders? I have a pet jumping spider I named Fluffinatior. (Fluffy is too common.)
I live on a farm and there are spiders absolutely everywhere!

I like spiders, but I don't own any as pets. I've been considering getting a Hissing Cockroach as a pet, but I haven't done it yet lolz. I actually work in an entomology lab so I work daily with insects (mostly bees, but also some beetles).

(The strangest pets I ever owned were Grey Tree Frogs not very special, but fun

Spiders are rather docile creatures, though I'm not quite sure if I would want one as a pet. I have a mostly neutral opinion on them, they catch bugs but they also scare me a bit. Overall, I do like them though ^_^

I have a bit of a phobia over spiders cause I was bit by one when I was younger, but I’d maybe like to get a very calm tarantula to help me get over that fear. But my folks would NOT let that, lol.

I love tarantulas! I’ve been planning on getting one this summer, grammostola pulchripes probably. It’ll make a perfect pet stone for me.

No thanks. I've had a phobia of spiders since I was young.

My husband had a huge phobia of spiders. So naturally, he bought a tarantula to get over his fear. It totally worked. Angron was a Chilean Rose Hair, and was super chill. I learned with her that tarantulas have an attitude, and that they're particular about the people that handle them, and how their homes are.

She preferred to be held by me, and threw a fit (flicked hairs) when I tried to hand her back to him. Never had any issues going to me, just going away from me. When we did a full clean of her cage, she'd stand on top of her sarcophagus and "pout". She'd stay up there and just glare for a week until she got over herself and redid her webbing. I understand the pout with this, as she can't feel where anything is with no webbing, but still. Drama queen.

I'm not a spider fan by any means, but I'd prefer the bigger ones. Then I can see where they are from far away. lol

I kinda like spiders, they eat annoying bugs. when they are in the house, I rescue them and put them outside.
Some of my family members acted like there is a monster in the house and I'm like it's only a little spider.
