It's going to be a roller coaster!

#165275 Posted on 2018-04-06 15:18:06

I've not ever really introduced myself, or spoken much about myself on this game (other than on my barn page, but I suspect nobody has really read that).

I'm Saber, a 22 y/o female and I've played for a little over 8 months now. Although I won't be on too much the next few weeks, I'm still really enjoying this game and the few projects I've got going on!

I'm just hanging out right now, and was thinking about the roller coaster my life is going to be taking within the rest of 2018... It is going to be full of change, excitement, and good and bad challenges.
As I'm alone right now, I was kinda hoping I could tell some people about it, if they'll listen. :)

I'm currently in my last month of college, going for my Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN). I am also in Army ROTC.
This next month I'm living with my best friend as I was placed in a hospital across the state from my college for my practicum. We've finished classes and have to complete 120 hours (aka ten 12 hour shifts) of practicum, which is where we work on the floor with a nurse as our preceptor. (Tomorrow is my first day and I am very very nervous...).

Then in May I will be graduating from college and will commission into the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant, active duty.
Once I graduate I'll have my BSN, however I won't be a registered nurse until I take and pass this boards exam called the NCLEX. So all of May I will be studying HARD (like 40-50 hrs a week) for the NCLEX and will take it the first week of June.

Fingers crossed, and I pass the NCLEX... I'll then be moving back home with my parents for a month and a half while I wait for my orders for my first duty station. At the end of June to beginning of July I'm helping my sister move as she is starting Physical Therapy school in Las Vegas. In July I'm planning to buy myself a new car (SO excited, my current one is in bad shape... haha!). In August I'm a bridesmaid for my best friend at her wedding. Then I head off to Texas for a 2 month camp (it's my Basic Officer Leadership Course, but don't worry, it isn't Basic or "boot camp", it'll be a lot more chill than that).

From there, I'll be moving to my first duty station where I will live for two years. I live in Washington state, and I'm hoping to be stationed somewhere down south or on the east coast to experience a different part of the USA. (Side note: I've lived on my own, without my parents, across the state for the past 4 years while in college with 0 help from them, but I still think living across the state and living across the country are two MAJORLY different things. This is going to be a huge change.)

THEN, I'll finally be able to start working on a floor as a nurse (which is both exciting, scary, and stressful).
Around this time it'll be Christmas and moving into 2019 (which will hopefully be less eventful xD).

Anyways, that is a lot of things to happen to a person in one year. In one year I'll be graduating from college, become an officer in the military, attend a 2 month camp, move across the country all by myself, and start my career...

Sorry this was very random, and thank-you to anybody who actually read this :)
I hope you guys are all having a great day!
I know I am! I've gotten to spend the day with my friend's dog... :D

I hope everything goes well on your first day tomorrow new experiences are always nerve wrecking but it sounds like you'll cope fine - you have so far :)

I wish i was the kind of person to boldly go as it were but I still live in my little old dreary hometown. I don't like change/upheaval!!

Thank-you Fabel!
And there is nothing wrong with staying in your hometown! I know a lot of people who do that and enjoy it! There is something super cool about having one distinct place being your 'home'!
I've lived in a few states before moving to my current hometown in Washington, so already I'm not the person who is from one singular place. I've just always had the want to travel and have different living experiences. Since I'm single right now, I have nothing holding me down, and I plan to take advantage of that :)
Someday, I plan to return to Washington or another area, and settle down there!

Thanks Midnight and Bandit :D
Midnight, if you ever think about it more and have any questions, shoot me a message. I'm happy to talk!
