Would this work?

#158679 Posted on 2018-03-12 16:07:03

I'm not really sure if this would go here, so mods feel free tomove it if it's not. ;P

I have found myself in a predicament. In other words, I have nine pieces of art going to nine different people, and while I do have them and their art pieces all typed down in a safe location, it gets very frustrating trying to keep up with messaging them when I have to meesage them separetly....
So I looked at the pros and cons of starting a group chat for the people I have art for. And the reason I am asking this, is because I can go a little overboard with the cons sometimes (seriously. I would probably jot in there something about a lizard coming and stealing my sleeping buddy stuffed animal, and then convince myself it happened because I started a group chat.)
My main concern if I did start a group chat, is the whole issue of "personal details" i.e., some people may not want anyone else to know how much they paid for something. But like I said, I can go overboard and I'm not sure this would be a ligitament promblem.
Anyway, your guy's thought on whether this would be a good idea or not would be much appriciated. (;

I would just ask each person as they come along if they'd be cool with being added to a group chat. If 90% of people are okay with it that would at least cut down on the clutter for you and leave you with 10% of people in separate coversations.

Personally I wouldn't like it as a buyer because I'd get a new message everytime you said something to another client (it would be annoying after a while to get messages which had nothing to do with me; this happens at work to me all the time). As for people knowing what I paid for something I'd have no issues with that personally.

I agree with insomniaglet. I myself wouldn’t want a bunch of notifications for art that isn’t for me. Plus I feel like I as a buyer would get lost in a sea of people instead of a nice personal one on one conversation. It kind of makes me feel not as valued of a customer if the artist just wants to be lazy.  And, if I would like changes to a piece, I don’t want to burden a bunch of other people to receive that notification.

Maybe just don’t take on so many projects at a time so you don’t feel stressed out of having to contact people individually?
