I will be getting a book related tattoo very soon (hopefully!) as I'm going to be a librarian. It's hard finding something that looks cute and original though! Once you get started, there is no stopping :)

What/where:
●peacock from top of hip to mid thigh
●cat on foot
●skull with flowers on left inner upper arm
●gears on left inner upper arm
●large octopus carrying a cracked teacup on left upper arm
●Aladdin Sane bolt on right upper arm
●Civil War era cannon on right braline
●stylized Death's Head Hawkmoth on back of neck
●Also have my eyeliner tatted on.
Do you have a picture?: will upload :)
Did it hurt?: None of them were unbearable. Touch up on the bolt was awful, though--terrible bruising, too.
How many do you have?: 8. I don't count the eyeliner.
Anything else, you'd like to add? I think that's all... lol. The left arm is going to be a steampunk-inspired quarter sleeve. The right arm is going to be a sort of Bowie tribute. Going to have the cat on the foot modified in the next few months--add some galactic looking background. Who knows what else will happen.

Like Siren and Pistol, I don't have any personally, but kind of want one someday. I'm just not sure what I would want or where. I would want something with meaning to me, that's for sure. Also not sure where I would get it placed, cause it depends on what I decide to get, lol. It's fun seeing what everyone else has/wants to get done though :D

(Mobile post)

I have four tattoos. All in different areas such as on bone and on fleshier parts.
I wouldn't say any of them really hurt.. Slight pain obviously.. but me personally, I just got used to it when I was having them done. But as people have said, it does depend on you as a person. I think I was with friends on all four occasions so maybe I was putting on a brave face and stuck with it shall we say? Hehe.

But I have four.. And want more. So if they hurt that bad, why would we keep going back for more!? It's not for everyone.. And I would make sure you are 100% happy with your choice before committing. Easier to have done than removed. And much less painful (so I've heard!).

Getting closer and closer to getting a tattoo (well more like 3 or 4. But, of course it'll be over the course of months/year) Found two shops I like that are professional, and clean (they both have five star ratings); just need to visit and chat with them before I decide which one I'll pick. The tattoo shop I like most has a female tattoo artist, and I'm hoping I end up being able to have her do the tattoos. First tattoo I'm getting is 'Believe' with Disney sparkles underneath, and a chibi headshot (or full body above the text) of Toothless from HTTYD off to the side of it. It'll be on my arm somewhere, I'll discuss placement with the artist.

I'd consider this one fairly small-medium compared to my next planned tattoo. My next one is going to be a horse and wolf together in front of a dreamcatcher. Was thinking tribal style, and unsure of placement.

The other two are a cherry blossom branch unsure of placement, and some paw prints on my lower leg.

I'm thinking September or October is when I'll try to get my tattoo done. My mom wants to get a matching 'Believe' tattoo except instead of Toothless, she's getting Minnie Mouse.

Now off I go trying to save money in order to afford it lol. Might try to see if my Uncle will come over from Texas to be with me while I get it done. Even though my parents will be there, neither of them have tattoos. My Uncle has a fullbody tiger tattoo on his left shoulder (back). It's really cool, and he's given me advice on tattoos before.

I'm not worried about people seeing my tattoos, as I can't work (for multiple reasons). And around here you're considered strange if you're over the age of 18 and don't have a tattoo lol. My sis has at least 10+ and seems to get one every few months lol.

I don't have any yet, but I'm considering it. However, after reading a recent blog/article, I'm rethinking my desire to get an Arch-reactor over the scar where my port is.

https://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-26866/the-crazy-side-effect-of-getting-tattoos-that-no-one-knows-about.html

I'm not a medical professional in any way, so I don't know how valid any of that is, but it does bring up some interesting questions to consider before going through with it.

What are they?: I have "Siempre" on my left hip, a "; )" on my left wrist, and a quote on my right bicep. The quote is "Nevertheless, life and death are mysterious states, and we know little of the resources of either". It's from the 1872 vampire novella Carmilla by Joseph Sheridan le Fanu. One of my favourite books!
Do you have a picture?: I have pictures but they're not very interesting to look at. I may be getting something more detailed in the future. I love tattoos!
Did it hurt?: The hip one hurt baaaadddd because it was on the thin skin right over the bone. The wrist and bicep ones didn't hurt at all.
How many do you have?: Three
Anything else, you'd like to add?: My mother hates them. Therefore I love them hahaha

What are they?: I have a horseshoe and a dog with leash
Where is it (if you're comfortable with saying): the horseshoe is on my shoulder, the dog is on my ankle
Do you have a picture?: Very Blurry Horseshoe, Awkward cellphone angle & Parden my hairy legs, shaving isn't easy while pregnant
Did it hurt?: I'm very ticklish, so they hurt a little, but tickled more
How many do you have?: 2
Anything else, you'd like to add?: in the future I want to add a paw print of my dog Elvis, as well as a bumble bee in memory of my grandmother Bea who collected bumblebees. :)

So I did end up getting two new tattoos...

I got this on my birthday last year. Basically everyone knows the meaning of this one.

And I got this one earlier this year, as previously promised... I am LOVING it.

I know I'm replying really late but oh well.

What are they?: I have a crescent moon, a rose vine, a Lilly, the lyrics "I'm not as think as you drunk I am", a dreamcatcher, and "I love you more than words can describe" written in my mother's handwriting.
Where is it (if you're comfortable with saying): the crescent moon is behind my right ear, the rose vine is on my lower back, the lyrics are on my left should blade, the dreamcatcher is on my left hip, and the my mother's handwriting is on my ribs.
Do you have a picture?: I do somewhere on my phone but I don't feel like looking through it to find the pics LOL
Did it hurt?: OMFG YES. It hurt so freaking bad, but that was might've been because I have a very low pain tolerance. The one that hurt the most was probably my mother's handwriting on my ribs because it's on top of bone.
How many do you have?: 6
Anything else, you'd like to add?: I'm getting an infinity symbol on my wrist with friends name within it and her death date in a week and I'm so excited. I also want to get "you are my sunshine" with a semi-colon for the semi-colon project on my upper thigh.

What are they?

Anchor on left ring finger, Bow on left thumb, big piece on right forearm (Hamilton inspired. Lyrics, roses, and a dueling pistol), Antisepticeye Eye on left outer calf with quote.

Do you have a picture?

None of my fingers. They are just linework.

arm calf concept art calf

Did it hurt?

It wasn't comfortable, but I wasn't in enough pain to not want to keep going back. It is kind of an addicting pain, as long as you have a decently high pain tolerance.

What are they?
I have an owl, a balloon with the saying "let it go", a pumpkin, rainbow stars, intertwined hearts, "Love you Lauren", and a semicolon.

Where are they?

The owl is on my left calf, the balloon is on my right wrist, the pumpkin is on my right ankle, the rainbow stars are on my right calf, the hearts are on my left wrist, "Love you Lauren" is on my left forearm, and my semicolon is right next to "Love you Lauren" on my left forearm.

Do you have a picture?

"Love you Lauren" (this picture shows all three of the ones on my left arm).
My pumpkin (apparently I missed a few hairs when I shaved that day lol).
*will post pictures of the others later!*

Did it hurt?

Of course they hurt! :P Haha but no, they were all tolerable!

Anything else you'd like to add?

I would love to tell the story of my "Love you Lauren" one. Since that is honestly my favorite one. Plus, talking about it helps. ♥ Long story short, my very best friend took his own life. A few days after his passing I got a letter in the mail from him, dated the day before his passing. My tattoo is his actual handwriting from that letter. I got it on my left forearm for two reasons: 1) so I could see it every day; 2) it's the arm closest to my heart, so I feel like it brings him closer to me. ♥ The semicolon I added for myself, since I too have struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts.

I don't have any right now as I grew up with a step-mother who is highly highly against them. It took me years to get her to realize that good people actually get tattoos now-a-days... Then some more work to get her to think that you aren't a stupid person for getting them (at least not all people are) and a lot are actually planned out and meaningful tattoos that impact that person.
But she still insists that almost everybody who gets a tattoo ends up regretting it at some point in their lives, so it doesn't matter if it is meaningful at one point, according to her, everybody will end up wanting it removed.

So I've not gotten to the point of getting one yet... I don't share her beliefs. I do believe its stupid when people just show up to a tattoo parlor and randomly flips through the books and makes a decision on that day to get a tattoo and what to get. THOSE are the people that end up regretting it.
My rule for myself is I have to go a year still wanting the same tattoo so I know when I have an idea for one, it isn't just a phase or something, but instead one I really want.

Right now I want 5 running horses on my shoulders, with a breast cancer sign on the flanks of the one in the back. This would represent my dad, step mother, sister, me and my mom who passed from breast cancer when I was young. And I've grown up with horses my whole life, and live in a huge horse racing family so thats the horses impact.
Then I have this picture of a Amsterdam tulip with birds flying out. Again, the birds would represent my family flying from the tulip. That one doesn't have as MUCH meaning but I just love it so much. We'll see if that one passes the year mark and if I ever decide to get an actual tattoo :)

What are they?/Where is it (if you're comfortable with saying):

A ";)" on my left wrist
"Siempre" on my left hip
And a quote from the 19th century vampire novella Carmilla by Joseph Sheridan le Fanu on the inside of my right upper arm. It says "Nevertheless, life and death are mysterious states, and we know little of the resources of either".

Do you have a picture?:

None on this computer lol.

Did it hurt?:

The hip one did. It was my first and it's partially over the bone. The other two didn't hurt at all.

How many do you have?:

Three

Anything else, you'd like to add?:

More to come hahaha
