So, do any of you have tattoos? I plan to get a few in the future.

Around three, all of which would be fairly small.
I won't specify what they are as they are very personal.

Anyways here's a little form.

What are they?:
Where is it (if you're comfortable with saying):
Do you have a picture?:
Did it hurt?:
How many do you have?:
Anything else, you'd like to add?:

What are they?: three birds
Where is it (if you're comfortable with saying): behind my ear
Do you have a picture?: not me but what my birds look like
Did it hurt?: just felt like a scratch to me, it depends on your pain sensitivity c:
How many do you have?: just that one but i want more.
Anything else, you'd like to add?: it feels really scary sitting in the tattoo chair and hearing the needle turn on but once the artist starts then its nothing :)

What are they? My late dog's name, Severus

Where is it? Left clavicle

Do you have a picture? clicky This is probably the best one I have of it D:

Did it hurt? A bit... it was over a bone.

How many do you have? Just the one so far

Anything else, you'd like to add? I plan on getting at least three more. One that matches my current one on the other clavicle that says Always in honor of both my dog (again) and Alan Rickman. Then I want an Acherontia styx on the back of my neck. The third... I'm still knocking around the details.

Anything else, you'd like to add?: I'd like to get 2 more. One of a shark and a small cross.

I cant really fill out a form cos I have no tattoos. But lately ive really been considering getting one. Just gotta save up some extra cash.
im thinking of getting a crocodile on my wrist or my pelvis or something (cos crocs are my fave :D). I have extremely thin wrists though so I doubt they will let me tattoo there :(
i have a huge pet peeve when people get tattoos that look identical to other tattoos people already have. Its just weird and impersonal. Lol sorry, random sharing.

What are they?: Two phrases and an arrow

Where is it (if you're comfortable with saying): Upper arm, collarbone, ribs
Do you have a picture?: One, two, three.

Did it hurt?: Yes. Anyone who says it doesn't hurt is lying to you. But I will say that it's a different kind of hurt than actual pain; it depends on who you are, how hard your tattoo artist is on you, how much they go over it, what it is and how big, where it is, etc. Everything comes into play. And no matter how much it hurts, as you can see from people who are covered in tattoos, it's still great enough to do again and again.

For me personally, I would rate my arm as the most painful, though I initially went into it think ribs would hurt the worst. I got my arm and collarbone done at the same time. He did my collarbone and it was sort of like getting repeatedly pinched with really sharp nails, but I was able to relax and almost fell asleep during it. When he did my arm (arrow) though, it was in a much more sensitive area than I thought it would be (it faces out so when my arms are at my side, you can see it) and he also had to do shading which meant dragging the needle over the same area multiple times, each time made it worse. With my ribs, the inner ("still") wasn't too bad, but the further he went the worse it got. Eventually I was asking the friend holding my hand how close he was to being done lol but trust me, the desire to walk out with a finished tattoo instead of looking like a doofus will win over any pain.

All three took about 10 minutes each, so it's not like it goes on forever.

How many do you have?: Just the three, but I will get a bigger, hopefully colored one someday. Just need to find something I want on me forever.

Anything else, you'd like to add?: Choose where you put them wisely. I was at my job for probably 6 months before anyone knew I had tattoos and since I haven't mentioned anything about the one on my ribs no one outside of the people who went with me and a few of my closer friends even know I have it. I don't even know if my parents have seen it yet, and I've had it over a year. That's important depending on your job field in the future because if you get it on say your forearm, foot, etc. you have to be prepared to choose your professional wardrobe around whether you need to hide it or not.

TIP YOUR TATTOO ARTIST. I don't know if that's common knowledge or not, but you need to be prepared to do it. They are doing you a service and putting art on your body forever, thank them. For small ones, $5-10 is good.

Be assertive and go in knowing exactly what you want. I'm a very indecisive person and I kept looking to my friend for reassurance that I was making a good choice, but at the end of the day it was going on my body and I had to make the decisions. I almost didn't say that I didn't like the positioning of one because I was afraid to upset the artist (that's just a me thing) but I did and it looks great. At the same time, don't be afraid to let them make recommendations. I went in wanting one specific arrow and he drew it up differently and I love the way it looks.

I think that's all for right now (it's a lot, sorry lmao) if you ever want to talk more about it feel free to message me.

Siren, it shouldn't matter how thin your wrists are. I have itty bitty wrists and I have a pawprint tattoo on my right one. I've never heard of an artist not letting someone get a tattoo in the spot of choice O.o

Gaia> I guess im just worried they might think its too small of a canvas or something. I know they always recommend against belly tattoos of you plan on having kids (I dont blame them. Ive seen how awful they can look after). I think its more so that I would like to hear a professional's opinion on what location i should decide on.Tattoo artists have been tattooing people for a long time and have the experience to know what to do (at least, thats the type of person I will be going to haha).
Then again, I know someone who has a camel tattooed on his big toe.. if you can get the reference. Lolol

oh yay! one of my favorite topics to talk about! c:
i have four, and i plan on getting waaay more.

the first one i got was a spur of the moment thing. it's two little hearts kind of intertwined. my fiancé and i got them together c: the second one i got was a lot bigger. it's on my right calf, and it's my pride tattoo. ♥ it's six stars all a different color of the rainbow. the third one i got is by far my favorite :) it's on my left calf, and it's my owl tattoo. it hurt like HELL, but it was so worth it! if you don't know me, i have a HUUUGE owl obsession. and the fourth most recent one is on my right wrist. it's a little teal balloon and it says "let it go" on it. NO, it wasn't because of frozen xD i got it way before the movie came out lol. it has a lot of meaning to me, and i just adore it.

the next one i plan on getting is my semicolon one.
and for those of you who don't know what the semicolon project is, here's some info on it: http://www.projectsemicolon.org/

What are they?: outline of my favorite mountain
Where is it (if you're comfortable with saying): back of my left shoulder
Do you have a picture?: somewhere lol
Did it hurt?: only when it got to the part where there was less fat/muscle or whatnot near my shoulder blade. it's just an outline too, because I wanted to see what I could handle!
How many do you have?:

What are they?: A quote from a poem called "The Old Astronomer" by Sarah Williams.

Where is it (if you're comfortable with saying): Left inner forearm.

Do you have a picture?: Link

Did it hurt?: I have a very good pain tolerance, so most of it was not painful at all. It was slightly painful on either end of the quote, where it gets to my inner elbow and inner wrist, but even then it really wasn't bad. The best thing I can compare it to is getting your eyebrows waxed; it's more like a bit of stinging than deep pain.

How many do you have?: Just the one for now. I definitely have plans for more but I haven't committed to getting any other ones yet.

Anything else, you'd like to add?: I second everything Losteh said in this section. Choose the placing wisely. I love where I put mine and I don't have any regrets, but I've had a couple jobs where tattoos had to be covered which meant I had to wear long sleeves even when it got really hot. >.<

In addition, I recommend doing some shopping around for tattoo shops. Get price quotes, look at their previous work, etc. I'm very indecisive as a person so I was so excited to have finally made a decision about what I wanted that I just ran out and got it at pretty much the first place that could squeeze me in. I think he did a good job but he totally overpriced the work, which I didn't realize until I went shopping around at other places to get ideas for new tattoos.

What are they?:
1.My first one is art from Pink Floyd, which the flowers part was originally done in black and white and looked horrible, which is what happens when you get a free tattoo, I later had it covered up for the most part and my artist now added to it so it wasn't so distasteful.
2. My leg piece I had done with a quote from the Bible in the book of Solomon which was done in memory of my dog who was my best friend, Sarah
3. I got done on my wrist, I don't know. Just fell in love with nautical themed stuff. so I wanted something different.

Do you have a picture?:
Back piece
Leg piece
Wrist piece

Did it hurt?:The only one that hurt was my leg, right underneath my Knee. But everyone tolerates pain differently lol

How many do you have?:3, 4 in September

Anything else, you'd like to add?: Depending how young you are, be careful with where and what you get a tattoo of, I'm so thankful my artist was able to fix my back, but I regret the piece all the time. I was young and dumb when I got it. If you're getting a tattoo, that is permanently on your body, make it something with a background to it, something with meaning, or something you find tasteful that you know you won't grow out of down the years.
Definitely consider your career path in life. As much as you want a visible tattoo, a lot of job fields require them to be covered up, or not visible at all. My wrist one, I cover with bangle bracelets when I have manager meetings with corporate. I mean I disagree 100% that it's something management can judge, at the same time, people with disgusting taste ruin it for others. You definitely need to post pictures when you do get one done! I love seeing people's work of art and creativity! =]

Beautiful ink guys.
I don't have any tattoos... Yet
I plan on getting P!nk's "what goes around comes around" tattoo around my wrist, and I plan on getting a horse shoe pattern with flowers on the top of my foot. Also, I plan on getting a stencil I designed based off photos I've seen online of a racehorse, with a heart rate monitor thing, and at the end, a jumping horse (symbolizing my love for OTTB's and the ups and downs in their careers to get retrained into another dicipline, a jumping horse because my dicipline of choice is hunters, and I'm eager to try cross country one day)
I'm obsessed with tattoos, and I'm very picky on what I want, lol.
I'm an arts major so if it's not perfect, I might freak out- it's what's holding me back from getting one!! I would be going to Hart And Huntington Niagra to get them, they're a reputable tat shop, I got my nose pierced there (I wouldn't get it done anywhere else!)

these tattoos are so beautiful guys ♥♥

i want one eventually, but i'm not sure what. i want something that means a lot to me, obviously. something that only i know the meaning of. in my opinion, i think doing the same tattoo of others' is unoriginal and honestly kind of rude since it was their idea and that specific thing has meaning to them. anyway.

i've heard multiple times that once you get a tattoo, you want more :p which i know will probably happen with me. i obviously want something to do with horses, and possibly something to do with twenty øne piløts which might sound dumb to someone else but they mean so much to me.

we'll see in the future c: again i love all of ya'lls tattoos ♥♥
