Just wanna point out that "ladies" don't really mind being called "guys" most of the time.

Also, you're not the only boy around. I'm one too, there are others.

I'm in the US and "guys" has come to be more of a gender neutral way of adressing a group of people. Some people like to say "guys and gals" or "guys and girls" but just "guys" is more common where I am.
e.g. "Listen up guys!"
Though if you're talking about one person, a guy is specifically male.

Definitely plenty of other males on here. Sorry to say, you're not the only one :)
And to further Eliza's point, in my area females and males are all lumped together as "guys" in general. I often address groups of people as "guys". Depends on where you grow up, definitely!

And in all honesty, I usually cringe when some men address me as a "lady"; just makes me feel like an inferior, or someone who is expected to swoon over men :S
... just my strange quirk! ;)

I might be the only exception, I grew up with only boys on my dad's side of the family, only ever had male cousins. So they always shouted "guys! Dinner time!", despite there being me as the only girl.

I personally don't mind being called a "lady," as to me it denotes a respectable woman. I also don't mind "miss." But call me "ma'am" and you're getting a few choice words. "Ma'am" makes me feel like an old woman XD

@vos: Same here lol. Ma'am makes me feel a little too old. I'm still getting used to people calling me 'Miss' at grocery stores, restaurants, etc.
