[Need input!] How do you draw...

So I thought this would be very helpful for artists!

Basically what you do is you fill out the forms (Or you can just do one or two if you like) according to how you draw certain aspects of scenery and equine. Mention how you do it. like what brushes, a step by step if you like, layer info. ;). You don't have to do each part of the form, if you don't want to!

Equine markings form:

Roan:

Varnish roan:

Leopard (appaloosa):

Pangare:

Sooty:

Birdcatcher spots:

Silver:

Snowcaps:

Hard white (Like tobiano, splash, face markings etc.):

Dapples:

Blue roans:

Bgs

Grass:

Mountains/rocks/stone:

Sky/clouds:

Sand:

Trees:

Plants:

Fire:

Equine markings form:

Roan: Airbrush tool, I make it fairly large and use an off white colour. I then put the opacity lower, about 30% and work over it until I get the effect I want.

Varnish roan: I start as a roan, but lightly. Then use a particle tool with low opacity and spread it around the horse. I then blur it slightly so it's not so sharp.

Leopard (appaloosa): I have some appaloosa brushes for this.

Pangare: I use airbrush tool again, pick the colour and slightly brush where I want the markings.

Hard white (Like tobiano, splash, face markings etc.): I literally draw these, using a small pen tool I draw the outline and fill in the rest. I make sure to get the base coat complete before applying any markings. For example any of the above is completed before I even think about adding tobiano or splash etc.

Dapples: My favourite, I use the appaloosa spot tools, but very lightly use an off white colour and then a slightly dark colour than the horses coat to apply these markings.

Blue roans: I basically do the roan markings, but start with a black base (an off black, like a really dark grey) and then change the hue slightly to blue so you have a hint of colour coming through.

@Sweet- It is basically the same. The airbrush tool you can use a soft brush for and lower the opacity, which gives you a similar look (I believe). For a particle brush I will have to check on as I used pixlr a long time ago and don't remember to much. The appy brush/ dapple brush now that you can't use. You will have to draw each individual spot/dapple (If I remember correctly). Hope this helps some what! I haven't used pixlr in a long time so I'm a bit rusty on how to use it. :)

All horse markings etc. I make with a basic (or similar) round brush, sometimes edit slightly with soft round brush or airbrush. With roans I experiment with charcoal and spotty airbrushes, but the effects does not satisfy me yet.

On Pixlr, you can get brush sets that have weird like.... spot designs???? There are heaps of different packs and I could probably tell you which brushes I used for this guy, who wasn't a GREAT success, but after a few years of not using Pixlr, I can almost tolerate him.

I was checking out watercolour brush and some charcoal/pastel brushes available in MyPaint and they are quite good for making spots or varnish roan.
