Out to Stud? - trakes

I have 3 National horses coming up to 16 and am thinking of putting out to stud.  Are there any benefits to Private stud and what does it entail as opposed to where people can see the amount you place on the breeding?

Private stud-
You have to manually approve and accept a mare that has requested a breeding to your stallion.
-More control over outside breeding 
Public stud- anyone can use your stud, provided you have progressed your account that day. No limits on who can use it, or how many times (unless you are checking the stud every day and actively tracking number of foals).
-Less control over outside breeding 
-However, some people tend to use public studs as they are slightly more convenient.

I noticed this morning that my mare and a stallion which are over 15 had been bred to 3yr olds!  Thinking I might have to review my strategy but am having difficulty locating suitable horses for my own needs as people have not rolled over.
