New To Equiverse

#114809 Posted on 2017-07-19 04:58:34

Hey everyone! As the title implies, I joined equiverse fairly recently (little over a week ago) and I've been lurking a bit but I'm still just starting to figure things out about this site.

I probably have more questions than I'm aware of, but the main thing I wanna ask is this; what's the market for Dutch warmbloods like? I've noticed that it's not the most popular breed (at least according to stats) and I've had some trouble selling a Dutch warmblood that I picked up (I did sell a thoroughbred and an Arabian within the first 3 days of joining, don't know if I coincidentally picked really good RC horses to sell or what). I'm pretty sure I want most of my horses in the future to be Dutch Warmbloods, but I want to know if it's worth trying to breed them and sell their babies.

Edit: I also meant to ask about the art community on here but forgot when I initially posted this haha. If horses have art attached to their public bios, do they sell better than horses that don't? Is there a large community on here that buys art for their horses or does hardly anyone care about that sort of thing? The only other petsim I'm familiar with is flight rising, and the general consensus there is dragons that are sold with art tend not to sell well, but people are willing to pay a lot for commissioned art of dragons they care about.

Welcome to EV!

The market is very slow in general. A lot of players start to keep their lines private lately.

I am having hard time with selling Trakenhers and DWBs are similar to Trakenhers (but with less colors). I imagine that DWBs probably will be harder to sell as well.

As for the arts, I don't buy arts so I can't answer your questions.

For the art question, I haven't really seen people make art of their EV horses and sell them with it before. In fact making art of EV horses in general isn't super common as there isn't a huge variety in markings and such to make a horse REALLY unique (unless you've bred several gene modifiers into it to make it more on the rare side) The public bios are a very recent thing and I'm not sure how much they're used quite yet. Everyone's still figuring out what all we can use the public bios for to be honest. If you want to try to merge art with the in game horses go right ahead! It may catch on, it may not, but we won't know until someone tries it.
Welcome to EV by the way! I'm also on FR but I'm more of a silent player who just randomly breeds dragons to see what comes out haha

Thank you both for your answers!

@Andromeda Good to know, I'll probably breed more for my own entertainment then rather than with the intention to make profit

@Eliza D  That's interesting to know, I think I might try making pre made art for a younger horse and see if there's any takers. I guess FR art might have caught on quicker because dragons don't die on FR, although since there isn't much variation in markings on horses here I guess if someone wanted to they could replace a horse and keep the art? If it's an untapped market I might as well test the waters and see what happens
