Running for Ownership [Trakehner]

#112156 Posted on 2017-07-01 07:09:59

So in case you haven't noticed or really read up on it, the clubs will be changing next month. Read the latest news article or this thread for more information.

I'd like to run for ownership of the Trakehner Club. So here's a little bit of information about me. I have a steady 7a-5pm job and when I'm not there, I am at the gym or playing Equiverse. My son is 4 years old, to start school next year, but he is pretty easy. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we are going on 7 years married this October.

Tha Club
Registration
Foundation Horses
3-5 years: at least 200 stats
6-8 years: 350 stats
10 years: 450 stats
15 years: 600 stats

Lined Horses
0-3 years: at least 300 stats
4-6 years: 400 stats
8-10 years: 600 stats
etc, etc,...

Should there be an additional guideline for color? I have right now you can submit any horse with double cream dilutes for registration but that could be up for argument. Did you guys only want to do an auto allow with standard stats if they have double dilutes and a roan or marking? I just don't want it to seem like we let every single horse into the registry. I mean its good, but does not give any true value to the club.

Stud Book Guidelines:
I'm really at a cross-roads with this one. I admit I declined a few foals that were registering for the club as a stud. So what do you think is appropriate?
They can be submitted to the club for stud registration at 10 years of age? and then it is by the owner(s) good judgement on when to stud them? I would be doing the stud page feature of at least 15 years of age with at least 600 ish stats. Or should I additionally consider a Foal Stud Book, for the littles?

New Clubs

So here's what I was thinking. It's to my knowledge that we're allowed up to 10 Admins per club. How many would you guys be satisfied with? I would like to utilize them, if possible, one Admin each month could host their own game/contest each month, in addition to the regular contests and goings-on of the club.

  • Costs $10,000 monthly to keep running (maybe we can do some sort of fundraiser type thing here?)

  • Can have up to 10 additional admins (utilization as stated above)

  • Can set membership fees - one time or monthly (maybe open enrollment week or discounted week?)

Take a gander at Abbey's Google Doc, she's got a lot of cool things listed there that I'll most likely utilize all as the club is based on a breed of horse.

This is an open discussion... Let me know what you guys think :3
Thanks for reading!

I think 4 admins would be enough for now. If the club grows even bigger then you could add an admin if necessary.

Is there any ither tweaks y'all would like to make for the club? Registration requirements for horses : foundation, foals, or lined?
Or registration guidelines for stud books?

I think that studs should have 600 or 700+ stats, and 15+ years old to be registered into the books, just so we can encourage high stat foals. Not sure if we would want to add a max on foals bred. Some are into that, some aren't.
Gen foals should have over 200 or 300 stats to be registered.
Foundations should have at least 150 stats to be registered, in my opinion. Some people buy horses, and don't really try to kick up the stats. So that could be a form of encouragement.

As it is the requirements right now are to be at least 150 stats until the 7th to promote ppl sending horses in to be registered,  after that,  any horse must be 200 stats.  Just takes a little bit of training to achieve that. That's what's going on for the month,  not to say that won't change in the future.

So right, completely forgot about that. That works with me. My foundations usually reach 200s by the time they are 3 anyways, super easy, it just takes some work.

As for foundation horses' stats, I think we should do it based on age and stats. We don't want a 16 years old foundation horse with 150 stats being registered...

3-5: at least 150 stats
6-8: 250 stats
etc

something like that. it will help to make sure that only decent foundation lines are getting registered.

Send me a message if you'd like nominate yourself for an admin position. Things to include in your nomination:
1) How much free time do you have available on EV?
2) Have you ever been in a position as this over a group of people?
3) What games/events are you willing to bring to the table?
4) What are your long term goals?

Giving me an answer like, "Hey I'm so and so, and yeah games would be good..." probably not the best idea. I'd like to choose from the people willing to give me some  ideas. You may not know what those events are right now, but if you make an effort to the ideas in your head it'll let me know your serious.

Also, for other members, would you like more drawn out events from the club, or do you like the few weeks each month? Are we gonna need breaks at any point? Could the prizes be any better? What would you like to see the other Admin(s) do for the club?

Personally, I like the idea of registering with a "at least this amount of stats per a horse's year of life" because some people get Foundations at 3 to start showing right away and it takes considerably longer to get to 200, but if you start them at 0 and train them daily, they get 200+ most of the time just from turning three.

Maybe something like 50 stats per year of life for foundations?

So 3 years old = 150
4 years old = 200
5 years old = 250
etc.

That's not too unreasonable since it averages out to about 8 stats a day, which isn't crazy if you keep on showing or riding schools and feed treats, but still shows daily work and dedication.
