what do these items do?

Ok I was looking through the item catalog to see what items do but I guess it doesn't tell you there anymore? I did end up finding a brief description on the credits page though.
What exactly does the coat applicator item do? Does it just change the base coat and leave all markings or do markings change too?
And same with coat randomizer.. is that only changing the base coat or will any white patterns change with that as well?

Both will just change the base color. Only the marking applicator or marking randomizer will change the markings. So after that, the only difference is the coat randomizer doesn't give you a choice, and the applicator you get to pick the new base coat :)
